Ways to pay your rent

You can pay your rent by Direct Debit, standing order, online, or by phone.

Pay by Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay. Once it's set up, your rent is paid automatically. It's one less thing to think about.

You choose how often to pay:

We work out your annual rent and divide it by the number of payments you'll make.

If your rent changes, we'll adjust the Direct Debit for you. You'll get at least 10 working days' notice. You can cancel with your bank at any time.

The easiest way to set up a Direct Debit is by phone. You will need your bank details. Have your bank details ready.

You can pay your rent online 24/7 using a debit or credit card. You'll need your housing rents reference this can be found on any recent rent letter.

How to link your rent account to your MyKirklees account

If you're finding it hard to keep up with rent, talk to us. We can help you find support before things get worse.

Your rent is charged weekly, and your tenancy runs from Monday to Sunday. The date your tenancy begins is shown in your Tenancy Agreement.

Rent is due in advance every Monday.

You start owing rent from the first day of your tenancy, even if you did not move in on a Monday.

If your tenancy begins on a Monday, you pay one full week's rent.
If your tenancy begins on any other day, your first payment will be for a part-week, calculated to cover the number of days from your start date until the following Sunday.
