Better for walking and cycling
We want everyone to be able to enjoy Batley, and to be able to get around the town centre easily.
We're making improvements to help make the town centre more accessible, more enjoyable and safer for everyone moving around Batley.
We're introducing traffic calming measures, and specifically redesigning the road layout around the town centre to encourage vehicles to travel at lower speeds.
We're creating better links for pedestrians, and widening pavements to make the town centre safer and more accessible.
We're creating new cycle routes and making the existing ones clearer. We're also making space for new cycle storage and maintenance facilities around the town centre.
As well as making things safer, all the improvements we're making to public spaces around the town centre should make exploring Batley much more pleasant and inviting.
