A family-friendly town centre
We want to create more inviting spaces, offering people of all ages lots of opportunities for play, leisure and socialising.
The regeneration of Batley town centre is a core project within the Batley Blueprint - making improvements to Market Place and Commercial Street to bring life, connectivity and investment to the town centre. The project also incorporates a new piece of public space in the 'Commercial Link' which will improve access to Commercial Street from the Tesco car park, Batley Plaza and Bradford Road.
We want to create great open spaces around the town centre, suitable to be used all year round for family-friendly community events.
We're improving public spaces around the town centre, making Batley a better place for all generations to enjoy together.
We're also widening pavements and potentially installing new street furniture, and we want to create small parks to introduce more greenery and new, pleasant places to spend time.
We want to showcase and celebrate Batley's rich history by creating interactive heritage installations, providing more fun, interesting and educational things to do around the town centre for local people and visitors alike.
