Sitting in the beautiful Colne Valley, on the edge of the South Pennines and close to the Peak District National Park, Marsden is surrounded by dramatic moorland and millstone grit crags.

Waterways are a big part of the village's character. The River Colne flows through the village, joined by brooks and tributaries, alongside the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. The canal towpath offers scenic walks to Slaithwaite and Huddersfield, and a short stroll west leads to Standedge Tunnel - Britain's longest, deepest, and highest canal tunnel.

We aim to protect these green spaces, enhance rivers and canals, and support wildlife for generations to come.
