We are transforming Huddersfield Bus Station into a fully accessible facility.

Work is underway on the £28 million facility, which is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Kirklees Council.

The new bus station is part of the Weaver Network , a new transport network for West Yorkshire, joining busses, trains, walking, wheeling, cycling and more into seamless journeys for everyone.

As we make other big moves to improve the town centre, with projects like Our Cultural Heart, giving people more reasons to visit and much more to enjoy. It's more important than ever that our transport links are fit for purpose, and that our town centre is practical and welcoming for everyone.

Huddersfield Bus Station is funded by the West Yorkshire Transforming Cities Fund , a programme that aims to help create a positive change in the way we travel across the region, providing accessible, attractive and greener travel options.

The bus station will continue to operate during the works.

Work is expected to complete is spring 2028.
