The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a multi-billion-pound programme of railway improvements being carried out by Network Rail.

The project aims to connect all routes between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, and York, bringing better journey times to all passengers.

The upgrade will promise more frequent, more reliable, faster, and greener trains. However, due to the size of the project it does mean that there will be some disruption until the work is complete.
