The blueprint aspires to make Marsden Train Station the main gateway for visitors to the village, the improvements aim to transform the arrival experience and create a space that feels safe, attractive, and easy to navigate.

One of the aspirations will be turning Station Road into a shared surface where pedestrians have priority. Slower traffic speeds, new paving, and a raised central area will make this a welcoming space for everyone.

Our aim is to create a small arrival hub with visitor information, seating, lighting, and landscaping. A feature tree could provide shade and a natural focal point, making this the perfect spot to pause and plan your visit.

With the station improvements, bus stops could be moved closer to the new entrance, making it easier to switch between train and bus. This will create a smoother, more convenient travel experience for all.

Currently, there's no footpath on the east side of Station Road, forcing pedestrians to cross multiple times. A new continuous pavement would provide a direct, safe route between the station and the village centre.

Environmental upgrades around the station will aim to be complemented by better parking solutions, including blue badge spaces near the entrance and potential new parking linked to the redevelopment of the Goodsyard site.
