The A652 Bradford Road is a busy route, which experiences heavy traffic and delays, particularly during peak periods for public transport and motorists. It's currently not an easy route to walk, wheel or cycle with limited opportunities due to traffic volume and lack of suitable facilities.

With several new housing developments and employment sites planned or under construction in the area, means there is already extra pressure on an already congested route.

Our plans for the A652 will help to ease congestion, improve journey times and help public transport be more reliable and support housing growth, employment and investment across Kirklees.

The scheme is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority's Transport Cities Fund which is aimed at making it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle. It is part of a wider programme of transport improvements to highways and infrastructure, creating better links across Kirklees.
