Your current ceremony booking - what's happening

From Tuesday 5th January marriages and civil partnership ceremonies are currently suspended whilst we are observing national lockdown measures. Ceremonies can only go ahead in exceptional circumstances. If you need an urgent marriage or civil partnership because one of those getting married is seriously ill and not expected to recover, or is to undergo debilitating treatment or life-changing surgery - please email kirklees.ceremonies@kirklees.gov.uk outlining why the ceremony needs to take place as a matter of urgency.

From Monday 29th March 2021, ceremonies will still be able to proceed with 6 attendees only but will no longer be limited to exceptional circumstances.

No earlier than Monday 12th April 2021, ceremonies will be able to take place with up to 15 attendees (numbers dependent on venue).

No earlier than Monday 17th May 2021, ceremonies can proceed with up to 30 attendees (numbers dependent on venue).

Further Government information regarding marriages, civil partnerships and receptions, during the pandemic can be found at GOV UK: COVID-19 guidance for small marriages and civil partnerships

Testimonials

Dear Denise, Tara and all the team at the Town Hall. Thank you so much for making our wedding so perfect. You were so kind and accommodating, especially helping our nerves! We didn't feel rushed or like one of many weddings. You made us feel so special and at ease and we will always remember you as a special part of our wedding. Thank you for all your hard work and for being so lovely. Love Mr and Mrs Gaye.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for making our ceremony very special indeed. You were always so helpful and professional. Lisa, you made sure Terry didn't marry Elizabeth and somehow, you managed to fit his name on the marriage certificate. We had a perfect day and such an intimate and personal ceremony. Thank you all!

David and Tara officiated at our wedding and I would like to pass on our massive thanks for helping making our day very special. David made the vows simple to follow at a time when nerves are kicking in, which made it much more enjoyable for Debbie and myself

We met with Cathryn on a couple of occasions and from our first meeting Cathryn was extremely helpful, pleasant and very reassuring. On the day of our wedding we were both very nervous but Cathryn again made us feel very relaxed, our ceremony was beautiful and very special to us and our guests
