We all want to feel valued, more independent and have purpose. With the right support, we can help people with learning disabilities, autism and/or additional needs achieve their goals and secure paid employment. We can help identify the right opportunities and routes to suit everyone, including training as part of their journey towards paid employment.

Criteria

To receive support from REAL, potential job seekers need to meet some criteria:

  1. Living in Kirklees
  2. Be aged 18 + , we can start transitional support prior to your 18 birthday
  3. Have a learning disability / Autistic / or associated additional needs that have a substantial adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities which has lasted or is expected to last for 12 months or more.
  4. You do not need a formal medical diagnosis

At this current time REAL employment do not offer work experience placements as a standalone service.

REAL employment operate a Zero rejection policy, we work closely with internal and external partners enabling signposting to an appropriate services, if we are unable to meet your needs.

Following your referral, one of our advisors will get in touch. If we can help, we will make arrangements to meet with an advisor to discuss employment aspirations and identify support needs.

Local Supported Employment

With funding provided by the Department of Work and Pensions, we can extend our offer to include the Local Supported Employment programme.

Funding is available if you are currently not:

  • in work
  • in full-time education
  • enrolled on another employment support programme
