How we can help

How we support jobseekers

At REAL Employment, we work one-to-one with people to help them find and keep paid work that's right for them. We take the time to get to know each person their strengths, interests, skills and aspirations so we can provide tailored, meaningful support.

Our approach is based on the 5-stage Supported Employment model, a proven framework that guides people into sustainable employment:

Throughout every stage, our focus is on recognising abilities, reducing barriers, and supporting people to succeed in work.

We also offer job retention support for people who are at risk of losing their employment. This includes working with both the individual and their employer to understand any challenges, identify practical solutions, and put the right support in place.

What you need to know

Firstly, you do not need a formal medical diagnosis to access our support. As long as you meet the criteria below, we can support you.

  1. Living in Kirklees
  2. Aged 18 + (we can start transitional support prior to your 18th birthday).
  3. Unemployed or at risk of losing your employment
  4. Facing barriers because you have a learning disability, neurodiversity, physical disability, and/or long term-health condition that have a substantial adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities which has lasted or is expected to last for 12 months or more.

You should also know that REAL has a zero-rejection policy, meaning if we are unable to meet your needs, we will help you find someone who can!
