Greenhead park, Huddersfield

Opened in September 1884, Greenhead Park has always been popular with local people, both young and old. Activities, features and events within the park attract people from miles around. It is the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy the wonderful environment and landscape.

There are two spacious grassed areas that can be used for large events along with a bandstand with ornamental lake alongside plus many typical features of a Victorian park - formal gardens, war memorial, play areas, an ornamental fountain, a paddling pool, sports facilities, a couple of cafes (one of which is in the original and renovated conservatory)... there is even a miniature railway.

Being only a few minutes from Huddersfield town centre, the Park's convenient location means it is popular as an event space. It has been home to a whole host of events including Prom and pop concerts, Huddersfield Carnival, circuses, funfairs and family fun days to name but a few. The Park has an active Friends group who amongst other things programme concerts on the bandstand in the summer.
