Kingsgate and King Street: A traditional town centre offer
Kingsgate provides the more traditional retail experience within Huddersfield Town Centre and we want to protect and support this. The introduction of leisure opportunities here will also increase visitors into the town and support activity at the Cultural Heart.

Kingsgate cinema
A new cinema and leisure complex is set to be introduced to the Kingsgate Shopping Centre to build on the retail offer and attract more visitors.
Pedestrian-friendly town centre
We will enhance access to the streets surrounding and Kingsgate Shopping Centre with a focus on pedestrians and cyclists. We will also improve the public realm so it's of high-quality and uncluttered.
