Validation guidance for planning applications consultation
The Council is reviewing the list of information it requires for the submission of planning applications (also known as the validation requirements). Validation is the important process of checking that all relevant documentation and the appropriate fee (where applicable) has been provided to support the submission of a planning application. The information requirements are being updated to take account of changes to national planning policy, planning guidance and the Kirklees Local Plan.
The purpose of the validation guidance is to set out what information is required to submit a valid planning application. This should provide clarity to applicants in terms of what information should be submitted and enable the local planning authority to provide an efficient and effective registration and validation service. It should also help to speed up registration and avoid any unnecessary delays in the planning process.
