The public consultation on Validation Requirements for the Submission of Planning Applications has closed. The adopted version can be found at: Guidance and advice notes: Planning application process and validation

The Council has reviewed the list of information required as part of the submission of planning applications (also known as the validation requirements). Validation is the important process of checking that all relevant documentation and the appropriate fee (where applicable) has been provided to support the submission of a planning application. The information requirements have been updated to take account of changes to national planning policy, planning guidance and the Kirklees Local Plan.

The purpose of the validation guidance is to set out what information is required to submit a valid planning application. This should provide clarity to applicants in terms of what information should be submitted and enable the local planning authority to provide an efficient and effective registration and validation service. It should also help to speed up registration and avoid any unnecessary delays in the planning process.

The consultation has now closed. Comments made during the consultation can be viewed at: Validation guidance.
