Designation

The council designated Kirkheaton Neighbourhood Area on 8 March 2016 in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Localism Act 2011 and the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (2012) as amended.

Applicant: Kirkburton Parish Council

Progress

The Kirkheaton Neighbourhood Development Plan is being progressed by Kirkheaton Future who are the steering group working on behalf of Kirkburton Parish council. Kirkheaton Future are currently preparing a draft plan.

Strategic Environmental Assessment

In accordance with the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive 2001/42/EC the Council determined that the draft Kirkheaton Neighbourhood Plan is likely to have significant environmental effects and therefore require a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
