Dewsbury Town Hall Apron
Due to the Dewsbury Blueprint regeneration works taking place around the Town Hall, there are limitations as to what activities can take place in this area, please contact towncentreevents@kirklees.gov.uk for more information.
Located directly in front of Dewsbury Town Hall and running up to Long Causeway, the Town Hall Apron was historically bordered by the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway station but now provides an open town centre space for events and performances.
This space has been used in the past for large scale outdoor events such as Spirit with Theater Tol's Luce aerial performance celebrating the Tour de France coming to Kirklees in 2014 and Theater Titanick's wacky races type street theatre performance, Firebirds, in 2013 to name but two. It has also been home to many Christmas light switch on events and has been transformed into an urban beach with donkeys for Dewsbury on Sea!
To create a larger event space, the Town Hall Apron can be used in conjunction with the Market Place. This would require a road closure to be requested to ensure the event space is safe.
