The story so far

The maintenance scheme for Dundas Street is now complete. This street was identified as needing easier access for pedestrians due to its popular use as a cut-through.

The footways have been significantly widened and we have introduced parking laybys whilst also taking some paid parking away to allow for the changes, however, don't worry there are still over 400 spaces in the Huddersfield Bus Station car park which is only a short distance away from Dundas Street.

There have also been some cycle improvements: cyclists can now turn left at the bottom of Dundas Street on to Market Street safely and with ease.

These works have significantly improved the flow of traffic and encourage pedestrians, cycle users and vulnerable road users to use more active ways to travel around the town centre.
