The Council is the corporate trustee of several charities and there are three which award grants.
Dewsbury Endowed Schools Foundation Trust grants
Grants are available for individuals, groups, charities, schools or similar.
- They are to promote education, sport, and social and physical activity of people between 7 and 25 years old.
- They must live in the former County Borough of Dewsbury.

Manor of Briestwistle Charity grants
Grants are available for groups, charities, and in limited circumstances to individuals and businesses.
- They must benefit people who live in the former Manor of Briestwistle.
- This area is Grange Moor village and an area to the north and west of the village towards, but not including, Thornhill and Dewsbury

Clayton Swimming Bath and Recreation Centre Charity grants
Grants are available for groups and charities.
- They are for recreation and leisure-time activities.
- The people who benefit must live in the Parish of Scissett (St Augustine) or the Parish of Clayton West and High Hoyland.

Mirfield Educational Charity grants
Grants are available for individuals or organisations on behalf of individuals.
- The individuals must live or operate in the area of the former Mirfield Urban District Council or have a parent or parents resident in that area.
- They are to be used in advancing either generally or individually the education (including social or physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years.
- Trustees meet three times a year in February, May and October.

The Wheelwright Old Boys War Memorial Fund Charity grants
Grants are available for individuals.
- The individual must live in the area of the former County Borough of Dewsbury or have a parent or parents resident in that area.
- They are to be used in promoting the education (including social or physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years.
- Trustees meet twice a year in February and November.
Please note that funds are limited and grants awarded are modest.

If you qualify for a grant, then your application will be formally considered at the next meeting of the Corporate Trustee, and you will be informed of the outcome following that meeting being held (normally bi-monthly).
