Pledge to support the strategy

The vision for a more environmentally sustainable Kirklees can only be achieved by communities, business, residents, organisations, and the public sector working together.

To achieve this, we have developed our Partnership Pledge. Whether you are a business, organisation, or an individual - we are asking you to voluntarily pledge what you can to both help support and deliver our collective ambition.

Who has already pledged to support the strategy

  • Kirklees Active Leisure
  • Uniform Exchange
  • Kirklees Climate Commission
  • Third Sector Leaders
  • Holme Valley Climate Action Group
  • River Holme Connection
  • Greenhead College
  • Home-Start Kirklees
  • Moors for the Future
  • Support 2 Recovery

How pledging works

A pledge is individual to you or your organization. You can pledge to support the strategy in its entirety or any of its vision, one or more themes or even a single area and group of targets. All pledges, however large or small, help to achieve our ambition.

Pledge your support

What pledging means

Signing a pledge is a two-fold commitment. Firstly, it is to support and take action to contribute to achieving our overall vision for a more Environmentally Sustainable Kirklees. Secondly, it's to participate in our monitoring, evaluation and reporting process. All pledges are voluntary and legally non-binding.

Once you have pledged

Once you have pledged to support and take action towards the 'Environment Strategy; Everyday, Life 2024', you will receive a digital pledge pack. This will contain graphics and marketing materials that you can use to advertise being a pledgee and encourage others to pledge; including a pledge badge for your chosen theme as well as a certificate and social media assets, alongside guidance outlining the commitments associated with pledging and the relevant next steps.

Certificates

Single theme badges

4 graphical badge designs with each theme written on them; closing the loop, bringing it home, nurturing nature, kirklees on the move

Media assets

What a pledge could look like

As an organisation, we pledge to support the delivery environmental strategy in its entirety and to take action to achieve its ambition.

As a business, we pledge to support the low carbon, low impact theme within the Delivering our strategy together | Environment Strategy and to take action to achieve its objectives.

As an individual, I pledge to support objectives 'X' and 'Y' as laid out within the Delivering our strategy together | Environment Strategy and to take action in helping achieve them.
