Spen Bottoms is a valued natural space in Cleckheaton, lined up for transformation. Our masterplan aims to improve biodiversity, heritage, and recreation, enhancing this area for the community and local wildlife.

We're gathering insights from residents to shape projects that align with community needs and environmental sustainability. From woodland regeneration to heritage preservation and recreational improvements, your input will guide us towards a shared vision for Spen Bottoms.

Key themes of the masterplan

  • Biodiversity: Expanding woodlands, managing habitats, and supporting wildlife.
  • Celebrating our culture: Restoring the Cleckheaton Viaduct, creating heritage trails, and spotlighting local history.
  • Recreational opportunities: Upgrading play areas, supporting community activities, and improving access for all.
  • Accessibility: Enhancing paths, signage, and entrances to welcome more visitors.
