Celebrate Carers Week with us at Greenhead Park

We’re inviting unpaid carers from across Kirklees to join us for a special Carers Week celebration in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield, on Tuesday 9 June 2026, from 11am to 3pm. The event is completely free, and it’s a chance for you to take a break, connect with others and feel appreciated for everything you do. 

Interim arrangements in place at Kirklees Council

Kirklees Council’s Annual Council Meeting continued on Wednesday 28 May after being adjourned on 20 May. No candidate for Leader of the Council was able to achieve a majority of votes cast at tonight’s meeting. The council’s Constitution sets out what happens in these circumstances. The Chief Executive will temporarily take the decisions necessary to maintain the safe and lawful
