Improvement works have started on the districts unclassified roads as part of the Locality Based Unclassified Programme. This £15m highways project, features over 120 schemes across 23 wards and aims to tackle roads identified as in need of immediate repair as well as improving pavement conditions. The network of unclassified roads currently covers 1440km or 895 miles.
Updates and timelines
The programme of works has started on ward priority schemes which has undergone detailed development and procurement. The completion of all works is due to finish by March 2023.
