Getting here

By foot

You can find us just on Woodlands Road in Batley or you can walk through Wilton Park on Bradford Road and find us at the top of the hill. (Trust us, it's worth the walk!)

By bus

Catch the 201A from Leeds or the 213 from Dewsbury. Both stop on Woodlands Road close by the museum.

By bike

We have three bicycle racks just outside the museum.

By car

We're on Woodlands Road in Batley which is just off Upper Batley Lane. Please use postcode WF17 0AS for Sat Navs.

Parking is free at the museum.

Gift shop and refreshments

Gift shop

Bagshaw shop is set in the Victorian gothic splendour of the stunning entrance hall and is a great place to find wonderful and curious souvenirs, treasures and pocket money toys.

Shopping highlights include a quirky range of Ancient Egyptian inspired items as well as a gorgeous display of sparkly and coloured gemstones. There are stylish William Morris homewares which make beautiful gifts and a selection of Fair Trade items from around the world including Moroccan lanterns, sari covered notebooks, soapstone ceramics and elephant dung stationery.

Refreshments

We have a small refreshments area, selling hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks situated within the shop/reception area.

Toilets and baby changing

We have toilets for visitors located on the ground floor. These include baby changing facilities and a fully accessible toilet.

Accessibility information

We have disabled parking, a disabled lift to allow interior access to the first floor and a fully accessible toilet. We also have a hearing loop installed and our front of house staff have undergone disability and equality training.

Group visits

Organised groups are very welcome although booking is essential.

Admission is free during normal opening hours and charges are applicable outside of the normal hours. Contact us to book.

Free coach parking is available at the museum.
