Bagshaw Museum is a Victorian former mill owner's house set in 36 acres of award winning parkland and ancient woodland approximately 2 miles from the centre of Batley.

Once the home of George Sheard, this gothic house became a museum in 1911 and was named after its first curator, Walter Bagshaw.

Displays include, two local history galleries, the "Spirit of South Asia" gallery, and the fabulous Egyptology gallery.

We have a small refreshments area, selling hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks situated within the shop/reception area.

The museum is over 2 floors with a platform lift access to the galleries on the first floor. We also have a hearing loop installed and staff have undergone disability and equality training. We are also members of the VAQAS scheme.
