Wooldale Free Church

Also known locally as Lane Bottom Chapel, situated off New Mill Road opposite the village Community Centre and near the Sycamore public house.

Two wooden plaques on the ground floor remember the men and women who gave their lives in two world wars.

The periods commemorated are 1914-1919 and 1939-1945.

There are also two further plaques on the wall upstairs, consisting of bronze plates on a wooden base, that list the members of the church who served and gave their lives in World Wars I and II.

Inscriptions

The ground floor inscription reads:

For King and Country

The upstairs inscription reads:

Erected by the Members of this place
of Worship in gratitude and love to the
memory of their young men who died for
Freedom and Truth in the War.
