Situated on the raised garden area in the centre of Dewsbury.
Created and built in the early 90s following a request from the Dewsbury branch of the Royal British Legion whose members were finding it difficult to parade from the centre of Dewsbury to the main memorial situated in Crow Nest Park which is approximately one mile away.
At Remembrance time, services are carried out at this memorial with wreath laying taking place at both locations.
There are no names listed on this memorial stone on Long Causeway. The respective names of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice are listed on the two memorials in Crow Nest Park.
The periods commemorated are 1914-1919 and 1939-1945.
