Commemorates the South African War of 1899-1902.
A bronze statue of a volunteer with a slouch hat, bandolier and rifle on a red granite plinth with bronze plaques. The model for the statue was Leonard Crane, who served in the South African War and was killed in action during World War I in October 1916.
The inscription reads:
