If your home, business or charity has been flooded due to an adverse weather event, you may be eligible for grant support.

Grants of £750 are available for households and £3,000 for businesses/registered charities to help cover clean-up and other recovery costs, including:

  • clean up equipment - generators, dehumidifiers, lighting, brushes, power sprayers
  • building and stock security
  • costs associated with getting IT and electricity up and running
  • essential fixtures and fittings
  • temporary accommodation costs
  • specialist advice.

We cannot provide support for any repair or other building works or replacement of stock that property/flood insurance should cover. We are unable to provide grants for second homes or empty homes.

Applying for support

Email floodmanagement@kirklees.gov.uk with the location of your property. The flood risk team will advise whether you are likely to be eligible.
