Air Quality Management Areas
Kirklees Council revoked three AQMAs and amended three in 2025, thanks to several years of improvement in air quality across the borough.

We have declared seven air quality management areas :
Ainley Top, Huddersfield for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide
In 2025, we amended AQMA 3. This is because the air quality in part of the previously declared AQMA has improved over the last few years.
Eastborough, Dewsbury for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide
Edgerton, Huddersfield for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide
Liversedge for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide

Outlane, Huddersfield for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide
Huddersfield Town Centre for elevated levels of Nitrogen Dioxide

Historic Air Quality Management Areas
