How and when to pay for care services
Unless you qualify for full financial assistance you will be liable to pay for some or all of your services.
Direct payments
If you have chosen to have a Direct Payment, you must pay the amount you have been assessed as being able to afford into your Direct Payment bank account.
When to pay care and support costs
You are liable to pay for your care and support from the date you start to receive chargeable services.
Your first care bill if you don't have a Direct Payment
Your first bill may take some time to be issued because we have to wait for the people who provide your services to tell us exactly how much care you have received so that we can send you a bill for the correct amount.
Having enough money to pay your care charges
The financial assessment has shown that you can afford to pay your care charges. Make sure you put the money aside to cover your care charges. Remember that you are liable to pay for your care and support from the date you started to receive services. After your first care bill, you should then receive regular care bills every four weeks. If your weekly costs are very small, your care bills may be sent at longer intervals. Direct Debit is the easiest and most convenient way for you to pay.
