LGA (Local Government Association) Corporate Peer Challenge
Kirklees Council Report and Action Plan
In November 2024, colleagues from the Local Government Association (LGA) and other local authorities visited Kirklees to undertake a Corporate Peer Challenge of Kirklees Council.
The Corporate Peer Challenge is a key part of the LGA's improvement and assurance framework. Local Government peers provide feedback to the council on a range of corporate issues, based on:
- evidence and information provided to them
- focus groups and interviews with a range of staff, councillors, partners and other key stakeholders.
The LGA then produced a report, outlining feedback from the visit, and key recommendations for action and improvement.
