Details why residents/service users access has not been considered:Local Air Quality Management is a statutory function that requires LAs to undertake air quality monitoring and take action where air quality levels do not meet national standards. All data and annual information reporting is published on the Council's website and is accessible to all. The public do not need to access the service.

The proposed changes relate to improvements in air quality in 6 different locations in Kirklees that previously had unsatisfactory air quality and were declared an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA). Due to improvements in air quality in these localities, the AQMA is either being revoked completely, or the area the AQMA covers is reduced. This is a positive impact for all Kirklees residents or visitors to those areas, however it is likely to have a greater positive impact for the very young (under 5s) and those over 65 who are generally regarded as more vulnerable in health terms and may be more positively impacted by breathing in less polluted are and who live/visit in on of the AQMAs that is being revoked/amended.
