About the site

Turnpike Close and Richmond Grove are local play areas in Birkenshaw that are being improved through the Playable Spaces Programme supported with funding from S106 developments.

Project overview

We have developed draft designs to upgrade these two play areas providing improved opportunities for play and enjoyment for local children and families.

The design for Turnpike Close continues the existing theme of toddler play:

  • New toddler basket swing
  • New toddler climbing frame
  • Refurbishment of the toddler play panels

The design for Richmond Grove includes:

  • New swings with both flat seats and a toddler swing
  • New multi-climber climbing frame
  • New bench and supporting infrastructure
