About the site
Sands Recreation Ground is located in the Holme Valley South ward, and sits adjacent to Holmfirth Swimming Baths. The site currently features a skate park, football pitches, MUGAs, and a playground. This site has been allocated a portion of S106 funding from a local hosuing development as well as funding through the Kirklees Playable Spaces Programme to improve play facilities on site.

Project overview
Together with Holme Valley South Ward Councillors we have created a new design for the Play Area and we're interested to hear what residents think about the proposed facilities and ideas.
Explanation and information about the new design
In the new designs, it was agreed that the key aims of the play redevelopment project would be to achieve the following:
- Retain as much equipment in good condition and good play value as possible
- Improve accessibility to the play site
- Improve the resilience of the play site given the risk from flooding
The design incorporates a mix of new equipment installation, the refurbishment of current equipment, and improvements in accessibility through surfacing changes
