About the site

The play area at Knowl Park is situated in the heart of the town of Mirfield. It is located on the open greenspace in between Knowl Road and Crowlees Road within the Mirfield Ward of Kirklees.

Outdoor play significantly contributes to a child's physical, social, and cognitive development. However, it is not just for children and young people; it should be encouraged throughout life, offering numerous benefits to individuals and communities alike.

Our goal is to enhance and expand the play facilities at this site, making them accessible to a variety of ages and abilities.

Our goal is to enhance and expand the play facilities at this site, making them accessible to a variety of ages and abilities.

Using feedback received from the previous Mirfield-wide consultation on play provision in Mirfield and working closely with your local Councillors we have developed the following plans which includes:

• New and improved paths around the park, new bins and seating areas.
• Updated play area including:
• New 2-bay swing set
• New multi-play unit
• New spinner bowl
• Repair of the Zip Wire
• An extension to the skate park is also included in the design.
