Local Welfare Provision
Our Local Welfare Provision (LWP) scheme helps vulnerable people in short-term crisis with food and energy costs. Entitlement for help is based on a person or family's circumstances at the time and is at our discretion.
We can help you with:
- food parcels
- gas and electricity vouchers for pre-paid meters
- Household Support Fund grants to help with costs for food, energy, and essential items
- short-term help with your rent if you are experiencing financial hardship, apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP)
We can give you information about:
- Council Tax Reduction
- applying for free school meals and school transport
- school uniform support (free recycled school uniforms are also available from the Uniform Exchange)
- welfare benefits
- debt
- budgeting
- employment
- housing
