Coach parking
We have designated coach parking in Dewsbury, Holmfirth and Huddersfield.
Booking is essential. Contact us on 01484 221000 and ask for the Parking Office.
Dewsbury
Drop off on Foundry Street, outside Dewsbury Open Market or any town centre bus stop. Parking is also available at Sands Lane Lorry Park, WF12 8EL. Please book in advance.
Holmfirth
Drop off at Holmfirth Bus Station, HD9 1HA. Parking is limited to 10 minutes. Parking available at Sands car park (Holmfirth Pool, HD9 3JL).
Huddersfield
There are two coach parking spaces at Huddersfield Bus Station, alternatively, use any town centre bus stop to drop off and pick up.
Lorry parking
The council has one designated lorry parking site, Sands Lane Lorry Park in Dewsbury.
The lorry park is only for the use of HGVs and PSVs which are registered to local companies within the districts of WF12 and WF13.
A £16.30 payment can be made via a debit or credit card at the pay and display machine, this will allow parking for a 24 hour period.
You can also request an annual permit.
How to apply for a lorry parking permit

- Companies within the districts of WF12 and WF13 can apply for up to two permits at a cost of £200.00 per year for each permit.

Apply for a lorry parking permitAfter you've applied
We check all the documentation you have provided to make sure it is valid.
All requests are subject to approval and Kirklees Council reserves the right to reject any application.
If we accept your application then:
- your annual permit will issued;
- or you may be placed on a waiting list as there are a limited number of spaces.
When you have a lorry parking permit
It must be displayed on your windscreen, clearly visible at all times when you are parked in Sands Lane Lorry Park. Failure to do this, for whatever reason, may result in a parking fine (Penalty Charge Notice).
Having a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.
There may be a charge of £20.00 for a replacement permit to be issued.
