Description - a bronze statue of a volunteer, with a slouch hat, bandolier and rifle on a red granite plinth with bronze plaques. The model for the statue was Leonard Crane, who served in the South African War and was killed in action during World War 1, October 1916

represents the location of the war memorial in Dewsbury (South African war).
