The prize

Celebrate your wedding ceremony and reception in Dewsbury or Huddersfield Town Hall; with their spectacular staircases, grand ceremony and banqueting rooms and stunning architectural features.

Celebrate your special day with a ceremony and reception for 60 people, at one of our beautiful Victorian town halls.

After exchanging your vows in our impressive ceremony room you will join your guests for photos on the grand staircase, before being served a delicious gastro pub style meal in one of our romantically dressed reception rooms. You'll have plenty of time for speeches, and if you want to bring your own wedding cake, we'll provide a stand and knife.

To be in with a chance to win this fantastic prize you will need to register for our tie the knot treasure hunt.

The hunt will take you on a journey around some of our beautiful venues where you will find hidden letters on our special tie the knot cards.

You will need to register to enter

Solve the riddle

If you're an eager beaver, who wants to get ahead of the crowd, you can pick up a copy of the treasure hunt clues from the Kirklees venue hidden below.

Each clue will lead you to a letter which when read in order spells the name of the first place you need to visit.

  • My first is in PROPOSE but not in REFUSE
  • My second's found in HAPPY and also in AMUSE
  • My third starts the body part in the traditional questioning stance
  • My fourth is in WEDDING and also in VOW
  • My fifth is in GIVE but not in AWAY
  • Six and seven are the same and appear twice in BALL
  • My eighth is in CHURCH and also in HALL
  • The ninth is in NAME and also in DATE
  • The tenth is a part of both LOVE and LUST
  • My last is in this sentence three times in all

When you have worked out the answer, you'll be able to visit this hidden venue's visitor centre and get your hands on a treasure hunt question sheet (don't forget to check the website for opening times).

The final

To be in with a chance of winning you will need to be available for the final of the #tie the knot treasure hunt from 3.30pm on 7 September 2019.

Twenty couples who have successfully found all the answers to the tie the knot treasure hunt will have been drawn out of the hat to go to head to head in a couple's challenge, where we test which couple knows each other best.

When we are down to the last three couples, they will have the chance to win the wedding of their dreams in a surprise final battle.

Coming to the final

Participants and the audience will be able to enjoy a drink in the hall and some musical entertainment before the show begins.

Whether you are planning to take part in the tie the knot event, or just want to watch why not come along for an afternoon with a difference.
