Find a job
You can use the Government's 'Find a job' service to search and apply for jobs.
If you are a Kirklees resident aged 15+ and are currently out of work, you can access free and friendly support with CV's, job searching, job applications and interviews, and advice on training opportunities with Works Better.
Works Better Enhanced and Works Better 15-25 (LEP Employment Hub) projects are both part funded by the European Social fund. They are delivered across the Kirklees District in partnership with C&K Careers, Fusion Housing, Paddock Community Trust, Proper Job Theatre Company and Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing.
Kirklees Adult and Community Learning has adapted its offer to support residents during this period of lockdown and social distancing.

Courses and workshops
There are a wide range of courses and workshops available.
All courses are free.
- Help with employability skills
- Boost confidence and thinking skills
- Health and wellbeing
- Eating healthily and on a budget
- Helping you cope with isolation
There are also courses to support family learning, including phonics, reading and how to manage challenging behaviour.
Taking part in courses
Each course combines:
- tutor led live delivery via Zoom (approximately one hour per session)
- some homework
- individual personalised tutor support time.
You will be emailed all the resources that you need to complete the course and will get regular feedback on your progress. You can also access a 'How to use Zoom' workshop if you would like support with this before you start a course.
We aim to get all our welcome emails and joining instructions to you within 48 hours, this timeframe is longer over weekends and bank holidays. If your course is due to start imminently and you have not had your welcome and joining information, please contact our partners directly.
You must be aged 19 or over, live in Kirklees, be a resident of the UK for 3 years or more (or a spouse of a UK resident, or if asylum or refugee that you have been in the UK for 6 months and are yet to have a decision on your status).

Adult and Community Learning is part funded through the European Social Fund, the Education and Skills Funding Agency and West Yorkshire Combined Authority and delivered through a collaboration of partners across the Kirklees District. It is managed by Kirklees Council and delivered by Aalfy, Crosland Moor Community Learning Centre, Fusion Housing, Kirklees Success Centre, Proper Job Theatre Co, S&H Training & Development and Ravensthorpe Community Centre.
