About the site
Kirklees Council has funding, from a local housing development, for Phase 2 improvements to the play area at Cinderhills Recreation Ground, Holmfirth, Holme Valley South ward.

Project overview
This Phase 2 design expands the play provision of the site after the Phase 1 installation of new equipment, and will increase the amount of play equipment with the addition of some new apparatus and some trim-trail equipment. The boundary footpath to the west of the site will also be upgraded and several trees will be replaced from the Phase 1 improvements. This second phase design will add interest and increase the play value of the site.
You said, we did
Following the feedback received as part of the community engagement on the previous design, we have made some changes to the scheme. The changes are:
- Relocation of the Pendulum Swing to the north east corner of the site
- Relocation of the Supernova Roundabout to the north east corner of the site.
Following the positive feedback received, the design still also includes new trim trail equipment, the boundary footpath and replacement tree planting.

Next steps
The Project Team are currently in the process of procuring and appointing a contractor to complete the works on site.
