Help looking for childcare
This service is for working parents/carers looking for childcare or those looking for a free early learning place and have previously searched the Council's on-line childcare directory without success and need extra support and help.
If you are looking for a short break for a child with additional needs, please refer to the Local Offer.
If you have been unable to find childcare and/or a free early learning place, our Childcare Brokerage Service may be able to help.
What the Childcare Brokerage Service does
- We will do our very best to try to find provisions that meet your needs; however, we cannot guarantee to find a solution to your childcare needs.
- We will contact providers on your behalf and explore every option for you; this may take several weeks, for example, if we are trying to find care when providers are closed for holidays.
- This is a free service.
- During busy periods we work on the highest priority requests first.
Kirklees Council is completely impartial and never recommend one provider over another - it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to visit and screen childcare providers and choose the childcare/early learning place that best meets their child's needs.
