Partially unoccupied property rate relief

This relief is only awarded if part of the property is empty for a short period of time due to one of these circumstances:

  • relocation where occupation is being phased in or out, or
  • damage to part of the property from fire or flood, or
  • extensive improvement works are being carried out.

After you've applied

If your application is successful we will apply to the Valuation Office for an apportionment of your rateable value to reflect that only part of the property is in use.

A revised bill will be sent once we receive this.
