Welcome to Kirklees Libraries

Library customers can borrow books, access free Wi-Fi, use our open access IT facilities and low-cost printing at 24 libraries across Kirklees. We offer free or low-cost events and regular activities for children and adults. We provide free access to online resources, including eBooks and e-Audiobooks. At our Library Hubs customers can also access self-scan and self-help telephones to contact other council services and submit supporting information for applications to those services. We also deliver outreach events and activities across the community.

Our Library Hubs are designed to make it easier for residents to get the help they need without having to travel far or own their own digital equipment. They are based in ten locations across Kirklees: Almondbury, Batley, Birstall, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Kirkburton, and Ravensthorpe (Greenwood Centre). Each hub offers a welcoming environment where people can access services independently or with support and signposting.

In conjunction with Royal Voluntary Service, Kirklees Libraries run a free home delivery service for residents who find it difficult to get to their local library. Kirklees Transcription Service provides a range of document transcription services that enable people to have equal access to information and produce a free audio newspaper.
