Hearing impairments - Induction loops

Hearing induction loops are available in all of our libraries. If you have used an induction loop in our library, we'd love your feedback. Please complete our Hearing Loop Kit Feedback/Evaluation form.

Autism-friendly libraries

We aim to make our libraries as friendly and accessible as possible, and to support customers who may need extra help when they are visiting.

We have created autism friendly user guides for each library which are available on our libraries page. Please select the library you would like to visit, and you will also see the opening times.

If someone is anxious about coming to a library for the first time or attending one of our events, please talk to staff so we can help plan your visit. Telephone us on 01484 414868.

Dementia-friendly libraries

We are part of the Alzheimer's Society: Dementia-friendly communities , to ensure the library is a welcoming place for those living with dementia. Many of our staff and volunteers are 'Dementia Friends' and understand the support people living with dementia may need. Any changes to our library buildings are mindful of the needs of those living with dementia and we work towards being as inclusive as possible to all members of the community. Find out more at dementia support.

Computer facilities for people with visual impairments

Microsoft software for visually impaired people is installed on the computers at all of our libraries.

Large keyboards and track balls are available at most of our libraries. Please ask a member of staff if you would like to use these items.
