Kirklees Passport

The Kirklees Passport is a council-run discount scheme, which incorporates discounts from other services.

Holders get a great range of discounts on many different activities and services.

It is available to residents of Kirklees who receive benefits (including Working Tax Credit) or are disabled or full-time students.

Priority Passport

A Priority Passport costs £2:00 for an adult and £1:00 for a child

Priority Passports are available to Kirklees residents who receive (or are directly dependant on someone who receives) one or more of the following:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Reduction (not single person discount)
  • Job Seekers Allowance (income based)
  • Guaranteed Pension Credit (not savings credit)
  • Income Support
  • Employment and Support Allowance (income related)
  • Working Tax Credit with child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit which includes a disability element
  • Child Tax Credit only

Your Tax Credit award must be based on an annual income which entitles you to full NHS exemption.

Access Passport

An Access Passport costs £3:00 for an adult and £1:50 for a child

Access Passports are available to Kirklees residents who receive one or more of the following - Not all these categories allow for dependants:

  • Job Seekers Allowance (contribution based)
  • National Insurance Credits
  • Carer's Allowance
  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Employment and Support Allowance (contribution based)
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Benefit
  • War Pensioner’s Disablement Benefit
  • Registered Disabled or deaf or blind or partially sighted
  • Blue Badge Holder
  • Registered Wheelchair User
  • Full time Student aged 16 or over
  • Working Tax Credit with Child Tax Credit (Total annual income for 2012-13 tax year over £15,276 this is shown on your 2013-14 Tax Credit award)
  • Working Tax Credit only regardless of income
  • Asylum Seeker

Extra help for disabled residents

If you have a Priority Passport or an Access Passport and you:

  • receive the care component of Disability Living Allowance, or
  • receive the daily living component of Personal Indepandance Payment, or
  • receive Attendance Allowance, or
  • are registered blind

you can ask for a +1 sticker to be placed on your passport. This will enable someone to accompany you free of charge to certain arts events, concerts and sporting activities
