The skip owner must request a permit for each address where a skip is to be placed.
If more than 7 days is needed then at least one clear day’s notice is required.
The skip owner pays all charges.
The cost depends on how long the skip needs to stay on the highway.

Skips are not allowed on the pavement unless special permission has been given.
Skips should be filled and removed within 7 days.
If a skip needs to be on the highway for up to 28 days, the skip owner needs to know why so they can agree the extra duration with us.
A skip is only allowed to remain on the highway for more than 28 days in exceptional circumstances.
A full skip must be removed within two days.
We will get an inspector to the visit the site.
We usually ask the owner to move the skip or replace it with one which complies with the licence conditions.
We can only tell you who owns a skip if a licence has been requested for it, or the skip carries the owner's name.
