Managing air quality
National air quality objectives shows the limits for pollutants. It is a legal requirement for Kirklees to monitor these pollutants and seek to minimise the impact of them on people's health and the environment.
Where air quality limits have not been met or are expected not to be met, we have identified an Air Quality Management Area. There are currently 10 Air Quality Management Areas in Kirklees. We have written an Air Quality Action Plan which seeks to improve Air Quality in these areas.
