The Kirklees Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB) led by Kirklees Council is a multi-agency partnership. The board has a key role in promoting the safeguarding agenda so that safeguarding is a responsibility for everyone.

The KSAB works within the framework of the law and statutory guidance to strategically assure itself that local safeguarding arrangements and partners act to help and protect adults in Kirklees who have or may have care and support needs and who are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect in line with the requirements made in the Care Act 2014.

Purpose of the board

The KSAB ensures the multi-disciplinary coordination of referral, enquiry, assessment, planning, intervention and case review of services to vulnerable adults who have been or are at risk of being abused. One of the main aims of the board is to coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of the work of each partner agency in relation to safeguarding. The board monitors the work of each partner agency.
