We offer training to organisations, community groups, education establishments and frontline staff who engage with children, young people and individuals or groups who may be susceptible to being radicalised or drawn into extremist narratives.
Prevent, Channel E-Learning and WRAP
Aim
To explain the purpose of Prevent, the process of radicalisation, how to identify when someone may be vulnerable to radicalisation, how to raise concerns and what support looks like in Kirklees.
Target audience
Frontline staff, including police, social services, probation, education, health staff and local communities.
Description
Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) is an interactive, facilitated workshop centred on a package of video content. The workshop provides an introduction to Prevent and has been developed to raise awareness of and explain Prevent within the wider safeguarding context.

HM Government have developed a Prevent e-Learning product to provide an introduction to Prevent aimed at objective two of the Prevent strategy - supporting vulnerable people. It has been developed to raise awareness of and explain Prevent within the wider safeguarding context. Prevent e-Learning is currently in development. It will support existing facilitated WRAP training

Aim
To raise awareness of the Channel Duty Guidance process and how Prevent works to provide a proportionate response to support vulnerable people within the non-criminal space.
Channel is a programme which focuses on providing support at an early stage to people who are identified as being vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism. The programme uses a multi-agency approach to protect vulnerable people by:
- identifying individuals at risk;
- assessing the nature and extent of that risk; and
- developing the most appropriate support plan for the individuals concerned.
Target audience
Frontline and strategic/safeguarding staff across public sector organisations such as police, social services, probation, education and health staff and local communities.
Description
This module provides information on Channel, duties and responsibilities within the process. The course should enable the user to:
- Understand how Channel links to the Governments Counter-Terrorism Strategy (CONTEST);
- Describe the Channel process and its purpose;
- Identify factors that can make people vulnerable to radicalisation; and
- Define safeguarding and risk ownership of the Channel process.

To raise awareness amongst the education sector and parents of the risks to children from extremism and radicalisation, and to provide them with the knowledge and resources to help safeguard children from those risks.

Parents, teachers and school governors/leaders
Description
Educate Against Hate has been designed as a one-stop-shop to equip teachers, school governors and parents with the skills, tools and resources they need to recognise and address extremism and radicalisation in young people.
The website provides links to, and recommends resources and websites that have been judged as useful to the schools sector. These include current Prevent Best Practice Catalogue products, and products that DfE educational advisors have recommended are suitable for wider roll-out.

This accredited course is designed to be a next step from the WRAP training, and give a more detailed insight to the Prevent Duty and how it applies to different institutions.
Target audience
Community groups, faith institutions, frontline staff including police, social services, probation, education and health staff.
Designated Safeguarding Leads and staff at managerial level should undertake the Level 3 Award.
Description
This is an interactive course which uses a range of group work exercises designed to promote debate and discussion around how the Prevent duty should be implemented. Its specific focus is on relating the impact back to the participants own institution or organisation.
Delivery method
Facilitated by a member of the Prevent Team/ There may be additional reading/extension tasks to be completed between sessions.
Length of time to complete
6 hours guided learning time - learners may be expected to complete extra time between sessions

This accredited course explores the Prevent Duty in relation to the learners own institution and generate strategies to promote the Prevent agenda in their workplace.
Target audience
Designated Safeguarding Leads, staff at managerial/governance level in within police, social services, local authority, probation, education and health staff.
Description
This is an interactive course which uses a range of group work exercises designed to explore the policies in place to ensure the Prevent duty is met and how the Channel intervention process is implemented.
Delivery method
Facilitated by a member of the Prevent Team - There may be additional reading/extension tasks to be completed between sessions.
Length of time to complete
10 hours guided learning time - learners may be expected to complete extra time between sessions
