Births, deaths, and marriages

Standard ceremonies

You can hold a standard wedding or civil partnership in one of our ceremony rooms at either Dewsbury or Huddersfield Town Hall or at an approved venue of your choice.

Once you have made your booking, you will be provided with a ceremony guide, where you can make personalised choices to enhance your ceremony so that it is unique to you. You can include personal vows, readings and music.

Our Town Halls

Our Town Halls ceremony rooms hold up to 30 people and standard ceremonies are carried out from Monday afternoon to Saturday. We do not hold ceremonies in our ceremony rooms on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The price for our Town Hall ceremonies include the ceremony room and the attendance of celebrant registrars'. Prices vary depending on the day of the week, see our fees and how to pay for a full breakdown of costs.

Please note: The Town Halls do offer larger rooms to accommodate more guests, in addition they can provide packages including a full reception. The Town Hall events team will be happy to discuss this with you, you can contact them by emailing weddings@kirklees.gov.uk . The cost of the registrar attending is not included in their room hire or package prices.

Venues approved for ceremonies

A standard ceremony at one of our approved venues can take place 7 days a week, except Christmas and New Year's Day. Celebrant Registrars will attend your chosen venue to conduct the ceremony. Once you have provisionally booked your venue you should use our online form to contact the ceremonies team about a marriage or civil partnership query to check registrar availability and book the registrars' attendance at your venue.

The venue will help you plan your day and the ceremony guide will support you in making your day unique to you.

The cost for a registrar attendance at a ceremony is not included in any venue or room hire costs. Prices vary depending on the day of the week, see our fees and how to pay for a full cost breakdown outside the venue costs.
